Nuno Paulino

Nuno Paulino holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, since 2011, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering since 2015, from the same institution. He has been an Assistant Researcher at INESC TEC since 2015, in the area of ​​Optical and Electronic Technologies (OET), specifically in heterogeneous and reconfigurable computing, computer architectures, and languages ​​& tools for hardware/software co-design. Since 2017, he has also been an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, by the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI).

Joana Tavares

Joana Tavares completed her Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2012 and the Doctoral Program in Telecommunications (MAP-tele) in 2021, both at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). She has been a researcher since 2014 in the Optical and Electronic Technologies (OET) group at the INESC TEC Center for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM). Her main research interests include the simulation of optical communication systems, nonlinearities compensation in optical fibers, and antenna arrays, namely the synthesis of radiation patterns and beamforming techniques. She is currently an invited assistant professor at FEUP in the disciplines of Electromagnetic Waves and Fundamentals of Telecommunications.

Nuno Pereira

Nuno Pereira (PhD, U. Minho, 2010; is a Professor at the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic of Porto (ISEP). He is currently working on the infrastructure needed to create Mixed Reality distributed applications that seamlessly span the Cloud and Edge. Between 2019-2022, he was a Visiting Scholar at Carnegie Mellon. Nuno had relevant contributions to 12 research projects (European and National), published more than 60 technical papers, and served in technical program committees of numerous scientific events.

João Loureiro

João Pedro Loureiro received an MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto (FEUP). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering and working as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM) at INESC TEC (Porto, Portugal). His research interests include underwater networks and maritime communications.

Luis Pereira

Luís Fernandes is a Biomedical Engineering master’s graduate from ISEP in 2021. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student at FEUP. His research primarily focuses on Deep Learning models for the segmentation and classification of lung cancer, showcasing a pragmatic approach to the integration of technology in healthcare. Luís has also explored areas such as Explainable AI and Object Detection in his professional journey. His commitment to practical applications underscores a measured and purpose-driven approach to leveraging artificial intelligence in the field of medical imaging.
